Update: Major road closed as crews battle a fire in Oshawa

A fire closed roads overnight in Oshawa.
The fire broke out in the area of Taunton Road, east of Grandview Street, in Oshawa, Oshawa Fire Services said on X today (April 1) at 1:42 a.m.
Fire crews were working on defensive operations.
There were no details about the fire or if there were any injuries.
All lanes were closed as the defensive operations continued.
Officials asked people to avoid the area.
Update: In an update posted around 8:30 a.m., Oshawa Fire said the fire had been extinguished and all lanes on Taunton Road had reopened
