Man arrested after armed robbery of Oshawa Circle K convenience store

A suspect was arrested after the armed robbery of an Oshawa Circle K convenience store.

A man walked into the Circle K at 206 King Street E armed with a baseball bat around 2:30 a.m. on Aug. 21. He demanded cash from the clerk. He went on to smash several product displays with the bat. He then hopped the service counter and struck the worker inflicting minor wounds. Next, he grabbed a handful of lottery tickets and fled the store.

Police arrived soon after and arrested a suspect outside the store. They charged Omar Walker, 45 of no fixed address, with assault with a weapon, robbery with a weapon and three other offences. Walker remains in custody pending a bail hearing.
