Police have arrested a suspect in connection with a shooting following a road rage incident at a Tim Hortons in Pickering.

Durham Regional Police say the confrontation began around 6:30 a.m., in a parking lot near Toy Avenue and Bayly Street when a driver noticed a vehicle honking behind her.

The woman drove away from the area, but the suspect reportedly followed her, eventually throwing coffee at her car.

The suspect then caught up to the victim near Liverpool Road and allegedly fired a shot, shattering the driver’s side window and causing minor injuries to the victim.

Later that day, police arrested 46-year-old Creston David Hinds of Ajax following their investigations.

Officials reportedly found a loaded handgun in the accused’s waistband and a search of his home uncovered additional firearms, which were seized.

Hinds faces several charges including attempted murder, discharging a firearm with intent to wound and possession of a loaded firearm.
