Man charged with impaired driving after two crashes in Scugog

An impaired driver was arrested after two crashes in Scugog.

According to Durham Regional Police, witnesses reported an impaired driver near Fralicks Beach Rd. and Island Rd. to 911. Moments later reports indicated the driver had plowed into a parked car and then fled the scene.

The driver took off toward Lakeview Dr. and Simcoe St. in Port Perry. There he got into a single-vehicle crash by the time police caught up to him. After this second crash, the driver got out of the car and tried to run away. However, police quickly arrested him without further incident.

The driver, a 43-year-old man from Kawartha Lakes is charged with impaired driving, failure to comply with a command, and fleeing the scene of an accident.
