Ajax motorcyclist killed in Monday evening crash

A man is dead following a motorcycle crash in Ajax yesterday.

The motorcyclist was travelling east on Taunton Rd. around 8 p.m. July 3, Durham Regional Police said. When he reached Audley Rd. a Honda Civic entered the intersection at the same time. Per police, witnesses said the Civic made a left turn to travel south on Audley Rd. and ended up in the motorcycle’s path. Boh vehicles had entered during a green light, police said.

The motorcyclist, a 51-year-old Ajax man, died on scene. The Civic driver stayed at the scene and co-operated with investigators. They have not been charged with any crime.

The Collision Investigation Unit shut down the area for several hours to investigate.
