Man stabbed during Whitby robbery, three suspects at large

A man sustained life-threatening injuries during a robbery in Whitby. The trio who attacked him remains unidentified and at large.
The victim left a business near Garden St. and Taunton Rd. around 1:30 p.m. on Oct. 13, according to Durham Regional Police. The area is home to a few large shopping plazas, police did not specify which one the man was attacked in.
He got into his car to leave but three men piled in with him. One of the men stabbed the victim in the upper back, inflicting a life-threatening injury. The attackers fled the scene before first responders could arrive.
Paramedics rushed the man to hospital and his condition has since improved to stable. Investigators have not commented on what, if anything, was stolen from him.
All three suspects are described as Black men between 25 and 35 years old. Two had slim builds and stood about six feet tall. The third was stalkier and stood about six-foot-two.
The first was wearing a black hat, a grey hoodie with the hood up, grey track pants, and black shoes. The second sported a black hat, a grey hoodie with the hood up, grey track pants, and black shoes. The third wore a white t-shirt, black jogging pants, and white and black shoes.
