Man stabbed in Whitby road rage confrontation

A man was attacked and stabbed multiple times during a road rage-fueled confrontation in Whitby.

The altercation occurred on Stellar Drive, a rural road which runs between Thickson Road and Thornton Road parallel to Highway 401. According to Durham Regional Police, around 9 a.m. on March 29, the victim was pulled into a driving dispute with a black sedan carrying three men.

The conflict escalated as the two cars travelled down Stellar Dr. Eventually, the sedan blocked the victim’s car and two men exited. One of the men grabbed the victim and held him, while the other stabbed him repeatedly. The victim remains in hospital recovering from non-life-threatening wounds.

Police describe the suspects as;

  • A Black or brown man with long black hair and sunglasses
  • A clean-shaven Sri Lankan man with curly hair, and
  • A clean-shaven Sri Lankan man with curly hair who was wearing a high-visibility vest.
