Man wanted for insurance fraud in Durham, fraud crimes in Peterborough urged to surrender

Police are on the hunt for a man wanted for insurance fraud in Durham Region over a four-month period between November 2023 and last March.

Durham Police say the suspect impersonated another man online and accessed and subsequently cashed multiple insurance policies valued at more than $40,000.

Jordan Ebony Fraser, 35, of no fixed address is wanted for five counts of fraud over $5,000, five counts of personation, four counts of uttering forged documents and four more counts of possession of forged documents over $5,000, as well as five counts of possession of fake identity and a charge of obtaining credit by false pretences.

Fraser is also wanted by the Peterborough Police Service for fraud related offences.

Investigators with Durham Police are encouraging the accused to contact legal counsel and turn himself in. The accused has ties to Durham Region, Peterborough and Asphodel-Norwood.
