Man wanted in Facebook iPhone theft in Oshawa

A man is wanted after the theft of an iPhone during a sale in Oshawa arranged on Facebook Marketplace.

Durham Police say a buyer met up with the victim near Oxford Street and Malaga Road, a residential neighbourhood south of Bloor Street near the GM plant.

During the exchange, the victim handed the phone to the buyer. While still holding the phone the buyer said he’d grab the cash from his car. However, when he reached the vehicle, police report, he drove off without paying for the device.

Police describe the man as Brown, 20 to 28 years old, roughly five-foot-eight with black hair, a black goatee, glasses and a medium build. Police released a two security camera stills of the suspect.
