Man wanted in Oshawa home break-in and jewellery theft investigation

Police are on the hunt for a man who broke into an Oshawa home last month and allegedly made off with a large amount of jewellery

On Friday (Dec. 29) Durham Regional Police responded to a home shortly after 9:30 a.m., in the area of Grandview Street North and Harmony Road.

Police say the homeowner reported that an unfamiliar man entered the residence and allegedly stole a significant quantity of jewellery before fleeing on foot.

According to authorities, the surveillance images of the suspect has been gathered and shared with the public in hopes that someone will identify the wanted man.

Investigators describe the man as being 5-foot-6 in height with a Middle Eastern background. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a black puffy jacket, light grey sweat pants and a toque.

Police have not provided details regarding the type or value of the jewellery taken by the suspect.
