Maplefest in downtown Bowmanville

Maple syrup is about as Canadian as it gets and the annual celebration of all things maple (and the onset of spring) returns to Bowmanville Saturday for Maplefest.

The festival, which takes over historic downtown Bowmanville from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., showcases local syrup producers who offer up the best of the region.  Maple products abound, from treats such as maple donuts, cheese, candy, nuts and fudge to the dark and delicious elixir itself, pure maple syrup.

The festival takes up four city blocks with unique items from craft and food vendors ready to explore and plenty of kid-friendly activities as well.

Admission is free and there is free parking available.

New this year is a free shuttle service from Clarington Fields on Baseline Road to Maplefest, with the shuttles running every 15 minutes. The shuttles are unfortunately not accessible.
