In the second drug bust announced today, Durham Police say they recovered MDMA and opiates from another home in Oshawa.

In this case, police raided a home near Albert Street and Elena Avenue on April 25. The intersection sits just east of Simcoe Street and north of Highway 401. They arrested a man at the scene and allegedly found cash and drugs in the home.

Michael Edwards, 53 of Oshawa, is charged with two counts of drug distribution for MDMA and opiates. He remains in custody. Police did not specify what kind of opiates were discovered, nor how much. MDMA is perhaps better known by the street names ecstasy or molly.

Days later on May 1 police raided another home by the GM plant where they found $480,000 worth of meth, opiates and cocaine. The two cases are not related.

Anyone with information about either case can call police at 1-888-579-1520 ext. 1708 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
