MMA hits the octagon at Oshawa’s Tribute Centre Saturday night

James 'The Suplex Kid' Clarke in action

Professional mixed martial arts will make its Oshawa debut when the Rise of the Phoenix events arrives with a bang at the Tribute Communities Centre Saturday night.

Presented by Durham Fight Series, the event will feature some of Ontario’s top mixed martial arts athletes including, James ‘The Suplex Kid’ Clarke, Glory knockout artist Matt Embree and undefeated professional Justin ‘KING’ Condie. With other local sensations including Bubba Picard making his pro debut and Joe ‘All Day’ Elliot returning to the MMA cage for a night of mixed martial arts combat.

All proceeds from this event are going towards the Hearts For Martial Arts Foundation, a not-for profit organization whose main goal is to provide sponsorship opportunities to families who could benefit from martial arts.

Durham Fight Series is a local combat promotional company with a goal of helping grow the skills of local athletes to make it to the highest levels of competition like Bellator and the UFC. Durham Fight Series has been showcasing local talent to the fans through kickboxing, Muay Thai and Brazilian jiu-jitsu events across Ontario.
