Moonlight Magic Bowmanville

Downtown Bowmanville will be lit up with the colours of the season Friday evening for the annual ‘Moonlight Magic’ event and Christmas tree-lighting ceremony on Temperance Street.

Presented by the Bowmanville BIA, the celebration will also feature children’s entertainment, carol singing and a visit from Santa himself.

The tree-lighting takes place at 6:30 p.m., with seating available at the grandstand in front of the stage, but there’s plenty to before and after the tree gets its dose of festive magic.

There will be free horse-drawn wagon rides along the main street and visitors can do a little holiday shopping with unique handmade items at the Christmas Market. Vendor tents and local restaurants and cafes will have snacks, hot drinks and dinner available for those in need of a little sustenance.

Bowmanville’s small businesses downtown will also be offering extended shopping hours until 9 p.m. and local food and toy drives will be on hand for people to make donations.

Parking will be free in municipal lots located on Silver Street, Church Street, and Division Street, and on local side streets, though the parking lot at Temperance Street and King Street will be closed all day.
