The longest serving K-9 on the Durham Regional Police force has had his share of calls in his seven-year career in law enforcement, logging more than 2,500 hours in service of the community.

PSD Flex, a Czech-born German Shepherd, has been on more than 5,000 calls in his K-9 career, including a missing person call in Uxbridge for a woman in distress who had been missing for five hours in freezing conditions.

After a one-hour track through the freezing temps in a rural area and travelling more than a kilometre PSD Flex and his partner D/Cst Handscomb located the woman in medical distress. If it were not for this duo finding her, the outcome would have been completely different.

When he’s not saving lives, Flex, or Flexy, as he is called by his partner, loves playing with a ball on his downtime.
