Motorcyclist critically injured in Ajax crash

A motorcyclist is in serious condition in hospital after a crash in Ajax.
According to Durham Police, the motorcyclist, 26, was riding a blue Yamaha dirt bike in a parking lot near Bayly Street West and Monarch Avenue around 4 p.m. on Sept. 18.
He lost control of the bike and ended up being thrown off. He wasn’t wearing a helmet and received a major head wound.
The injury was initially life-threatening and the man was rushed to a Toronto trauma centre. He’s since stabilized but remains in serious condition.
Crash investigators closed down part of the parking lot for a few hours to investigate but it has since reopened.
