Motorcyclist seriously hurt in Uxbidge crash

A motorcyclist, 20 of Toronto, was seriously injured in an Uxbridge crash yesterday.
Shortly before 5 p.m. on Aug. 5, the motorcyclist was riding a Kawasaki bike at high speed down Reach Street. According to Durham Police, the motorcyclist was speeding eastbound and weaving through traffic.
As the motorcyclist neared Franklin Street, he and a van collided. The van was pulling out of a driveway to turn west when the motorcyclist hit the side. The collision threw the motorcyclist off the bike.
He was seriously hurt and taken to a local hospital. He was airlifted to a Toronto hospital. Meanwhile, investigators shut down the intersection near the town’s centre for several hours. The area has since reopened though the crash is still under investigation. No one has been charged with any crime.
