Motorcyclist seriously hurt in Whitby T-bone crash

A motorcyclist was seriously hurt after he and a Honda Civic collided in a busy north Whitby intersection.
The motorcyclist, 34, was headed south on Thickson Rd. when he hit the side of the Civic as it tried to turn left off the road to Dryden Boulevard, Durham Police said.
The rider was seriously hurt and is currently in a Toronto trauma centre. The Honda driver received minor wounds and was treated at the scene.
The Collision Investigation Unit shut down the area, which is home to a shopping plaza and apartments, for several hours. They announced the crash shortly before 5 p.m. on Aug. 28. The area is now open once more.
