Motorcyclist suffers ‘life-threatening’ injuries after night-time crash in Ajax

A motorcyclist sustained life-threatening injuries after crashing his motorcycle in Ajax Wednesday night.

Durham Police responded to a collision at Dowty Road and Station Street just before 10 p.m. Officers on the scene learned the 20-year-old rider was on his black Yamaha motorcycle eastbound on Dowty Road when he lost control and left the roadway.

The man was transported to a Toronto trauma centre where his injuries were deemed life-threatening.

Members of the DRPS Collision Investigation Unit attended the scene to gather evidence and the roads in the area were closed for several hours.
