Industrial fire in busy part of east Mississauga.

The suspected arson in Oshawa reported yesterday has prompted a second plea for information from Durham Police.

A blaze erupted in a home in a residential area near Eddystone Path and Okanagan Path around 5 p.m. on Oct. 6. The residential area in the city’s east side sits just off Harmony Road and just north of Highway 401.

Several occupants were in the house when the fire began. All of them were able to evacuate safely and none were hurt. However, the blaze spread quickly causing extensive damage to the home and neighbouring houses. The damages will cost an estimated $2 million to repair.

After Oshawa Fire extinguished the blaze, the Ontario Fire Marshall investigated. They’ve determined the fire was suspicious and police have launched an arson investigation.

The investigation has concluded the fire was indeed an arson case. Police say multiple suspects are wanted in the case. However, they neither identified or described any. They have also not specify many suspects they were after. They have not made any arrests.

Anyone with information can call police at 1-888-579-1520 ext. 2739 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
