A huge navy ship is docked in Oshawa and the public is welcome to take a look inside.

The ship, HMCS Glace Bay, is in Oshawa only for today (July 11) as part of the annual Great Lakes Deployment through the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence Seaway.

The tour is a way to promote the navy. On board, Canadian Armed Forces members are available to speak about the opportunities in the navy. Visitors can learn about life on the ship and what it is like to be a sailor with the Royal Canadian Navy.

Arriving yesterday, the HMCS Glace Bay cross paths with Theodore The Tugboat Too, which was in Oshawa on the weekend.

The ship is at the West Pier, by Lakeview Park, 1689 Simcoe St. N. until 11 p.m. on Monday. It will be open to the public from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

The HMCS Glace Bay then continues on to Kingston, Montreal and Quebec City. For more information, visit the website.
