A Port Perry man is set to retire after a nearly $340,000 lotto win, his second big win that month.

Dennis Bartley, a landscaper, picked up a Lightning Lotto ticket back in October. In this game, the player’s five selected numbers must match the numbers drawn earlier in the day. The jackpot starts a $150,000 and increases with ticket sales.

In October, Bartley claimed a $77,777 prize with an Instant Diamond scratcher.

On October 29, Bartley walked into the Nestleton Country Store on Hwy 7A in Nestleton Station to do some shopping. He decided to pick up a ticket while his wife browsed and was shocked when the lotto machine announced his win.

“I saw the Big Winner screen and I had to ask the store clerk if it was an ad. She said ‘No, you won.’ I was overjoyed,” he told the OLG.

“The look of shock on my wife’s face was priceless,” Bartley continues, “This win is a true blessing. I can’t put into words how I feel. I am so thankful. I now have the freedom to retire from my very physical job.”

“I am going to retire, and I am thrilled for that,” he concluded. He’s going to put some cash aside to pay off his mortgage as well.
