A concert headlined by Offset at Durham College in Oshawa on Thursday night left students frustrated after the rapper reportedly showed up four hours late, leading to boos and calls for refunds.

The event, organized by the Durham College Students Association (DCSA) was held on Oct. 17 at the Bond Street Event Centre located at 44 Bond St. E., in Oshawa, and was part of the school’s “Year-End Concert “series.

Tickets for the 18+ event were priced at $25, with attendees required to provide valid government-issued ID and proof of current student status. Students were also permitted to purchase one extra ticket for a non-college guest, provided they accompanied them at the time of entry.

Offset, who gained fame as part of the hip-hop trio Migos—known for hits like Bad and Boujee and Stir Fry—has also established himself as a solo artist with tracks like Clout and Ric Flair Drip.

In addition to his music career, Offset is widely recognized for his high-profile relationship with rapper Cardi B, with whom he shares two children. The pair filed for divorce for a second time this summer, following a previous filing in Sept. 2020 when they later reconciled.

The Offset concert was scheduled to start at 7 p.m., but was delayed for hours, with celebrity reportedly seen smoking outside while attendees waited inside.

A TikTok video shared by user @breannaa28 captured moments from the performance after Offset finally took the stage, showing the crowd singing along and having a good time.

@breannaa28 THANKS DURHAM for somehow getting offset to come to oshawa 😭😭😍😍😍 even tho he was incredibly late coming ily @OFFSET @my.dcsa #offset #concert #toronto #oshawa #durhamcollege ♬ original sound – bre

However, another video captured by Instagram user @carmeelio shows audience members holding up their phones displaying the word “REFUND.” It’s unclear whether the video was taken before or after the concert.

Some users flocked to the comment section with their take on the situation.

“Poor planning to arrive with such a small window. No soundcheck planned? And then he was outside chilling the man’s known to care only about himself and this just proves it,” one user said.

Another user chimed in with, “Who in their right mind would actually pay to see Offset?! Like, he ripped you off? Oh, was he late?! Oh, he didn’t perform?! Good! Have you heard his “songs”?! Have you seen his behaviour?! What did you expect?”

“He only performed for about 15-20 minutes then ended the concert,” another user wrote.

According to Durham College’s event page, it was noted that no refunds would be given for entry issues related to improper identification, but it remains unclear how organizers will address the concerns raised during the concert itself.

No official comment has been made by the concert organizers or Offset’s team regarding the delay or the refund requests.
