One dead in major collision on Hwy 401 in Pickering

There has been a deadly collision on the highway this morning.

The fatal collision that happened in Pickering Friday morning left one person dead.

According to Ontario Provincial Police Sgt. Kerry Schmidt, the collision was caused by a vehicle travelling in the wrong direction westbound on Highway 401 at Brock Road.

There are multiple vehicles involved. Two other people were injured.

Westbound lanes near Brock Road were initially closed but now are open.
