One in custody following near-fatal stabbing in a Whitby motel

A man is in custody following a stabbing in a Whitby motel.

Durham Regional Police responded to Motel 6 at 165 Consumers Rd. on October 27, police confirmed minutes ago. They found a victim in the motel suffering life-threatening wounds.

The victim has been rushed to a Toronto trauma centre for treatment. When the police announced the stabbing at 5:15 p.m. they shared they had the man under arrest.

However, police have released no further details as yet. There is no suspect description available at the moment, nor any information regarding the attack.

Police have confirmed though that more information will follow when it is available.
