One man in custody after armed standoff in Whitby home

Police have a man in custody after an armed person situation in a Whitby home Tuesday afternoon.

Police were on the scene at a residence on Dundas Street East and Garden Street just east of downtown after reports of an armed man confined to the home.

A report from Durham Police say they should be able to clear the area and open it back to traffic soon.
