Ontario Tech, Lakeridge Health to announce ‘groundbreaking’ AI partnership in Oshawa next week

Lakeridge Health is teaming up with Ontario Tech University on what is being called a “groundbreaking initiative” to harness the power of artificial intelligence to meet the evolving health needs of Durham Region.

Both institutions are keeping the details of the AI partnership under wraps until the announcement on the project next Thursday.

The collaboration will be formalized with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between members of Lakeridge Health and Ontario Tech leadership teams on October 10 at 9:15 a.m.

The media conference will happen at Oshawa Hospital.

Lakeridge Health and Durham College’s AI Hub partnered up in 2019 to test the power of artificial intelligence on predicting emergency room wait times.
