Ancient treasures (along with collectibles, furniture and vintage goodies) take the spotlight Saturday in downtown Orono for the 15th annual Orono Antique Street Festival.
The little village in north Clarington, which has become a go-to spot for discerning antique and vintage shoppers, will host the popular antique festival on Main Street between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., rain or shine.
The street will be closed to traffic for the event, with residents and visitors treated to a unique selection of antiques, collectables, vintage finds, furniture, toys, books, jewellery, art, and much more.
More than two dozen independent new and returning antique dealers will be displaying their antiques and collectables on the street for the free event, along with Orono’s own antique shops – including the Orono Antique Market and Main Thru Church Antique Mall – which will be open for business with in-store specials to celebrate the occasion.
(These two independent antique shops represent 11,000 sq ft of antique and vintage items and are host to 25-30 antique dealers year-round.)
Once festival goers have worked up an appetite, they can grab a bite to eat at one of Orono’s local restaurants or outdoor food venues and enjoy live entertainment.
Main Street in Orono between Park Street and Centreview Street will be closed between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Saturday. Detours will be available on other local roads.
Orono is located just off Hwy115, 7 minutes north of the 401 or 3 minutes south of the 407.
