Oshawa has installed 16 electric vehicle (EV) charging stations at municipal facilities across the city.

With financial support through The Atmospheric Fund, the City has installed Level 2 charging stations at the following City facilities:

  • Civic Recreation Complex (99 Thornton Rd. S.)
  • Delpark Homes Centre (1661 Harmony Rd. N.)
  • South Oshawa Community Centre (1455 Cedar St.)
  • Parkade 1 (on Centre Street between King and Bond streets)
  • Parkade 2 (on McMillan Avenue between King and Bond streets)
  • Parkade 3 (on Mary Street between King and Bond Streets)
  • Consolidated Operations Depot (199 Wentworth St. E.)

“These new EV charging stations demonstrates our commitment to being environmentally responsible by minimizing our collective carbon footprint,” said Oshawa Mayor Dan Carter. “I am both excited and proud of the positive steps we are taking together as a community towards a more sustainable future.”

By making more EV chargers available for public use, Oshawa hopes to encourage more community members to use EVs and reduce their greenhouse gas emissions. Reducing emissions is a key action needed to meet Council’s goal of environmental responsibility as outlined in the Oshawa Strategic Plan.
