This week’s COVID-19 school cases and closures in Oshawa, Ajax, Pickering and Whitby: Oct. 12 to 15
Published October 15, 2021 at 10:14 pm
The following is a summary of active COVID-19 cases reported by the two Durham school boards, and French-language schools, between Oct. 12 and Oct. 15.
Cases that are not linked to outbreaks were not necessarily transmitted in the schools. They may have been transmitted elsewhere in the community. However, the case counts may not fully reflect how present COVID-19 is in a school community, since there is no rapid antigen testing available from the Ontario ministries of health and education.
Here are the active cases across the two boards as of Oct. 15.

The DCDSB does not appear to list whether a school with an active case currently has a closed classroom or high school cohort. A closure is usually ordered by the public health unit when there is a case linked to a potential outbreak.
A closed classroom or cohort means the children from that class are sent home to learn remotely during a quarantine period of at least 10 days.
