Oshawa-based GM Canada sales up 6.3 per cent in Q2

General Motors Canada delivered more than 66,000 vehicles in the second quarter of 2023, a jump of 6.3 per cent from this period last year.

Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac dealers delivered 66,468, vehicles in the second quarter of 2023, an increase of 6.3 per cent over Q2 2022 sales.

“GM Canada second quarter sales exceeded expectations, despite continuing logistics issues,” said GM Canada Vice President of sales, service and marketing Sandor Piszar. “We’re particularly proud of our electric vehicle results as we see demand for our EVs continuing to grow in Canada. Strong Q2 results can be attributed to robust product demand and outstanding dealer performance, with a disciplined approach to incentive strategies.”

2023 Q2 Sales Highlights

  • Chevrolet sold a total 66,468 vehicles, including 3,889 all-electric Bolt EVs and Bolt EUVs
  • Buick Envision sales rose 117 per cent
  • GMC Sierra sales increased 10 per cent
  • Cadillac Escalade and Escalade ESV sales rose 21 and 34 per cent, respectfully
