Kingsview United Church’s Oshawa congregation has raised nearly $5,900 for Redemption House, a faith-based organization that provides those overwhelmed by addiction and homelessness “a place to call home” while helping them find solutions that best fit their needs.

Redemption House representatives came to the church in early June to ask for help, bringing a few people along to talk about their personal journeys and how the centre helped them through hardship.

The stories “touched the hearts” of the congregation and the church rose to the challenge, collecting $5,876.75 for Redemption House and the centre’s dream of providing hope, love and support to those in need.

Kingsview United Church is located at 505 Adelaide Ave. E. in Oshawa.
