An Oshawa father of four is already thinking of retirement after winning a second prize worth more than $52,000 in the December 23 LOTTO 6/49 draw.

Sohan Lall has been playing the lottery with OLG for more than 10 years. He plays LOTTO 6/49 and LOTTO MAX twice a week, choosing numbers that correspond to special family birthdays. He is now excited to share the good news to his family on his first big win, a windfall worth $52,638.50.

“I scanned my ticket on the ticket checker, and I was surprisingly calm when I saw the prize amount,” he recalled while visiting the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his winnings. “I was excited but reserved.”

Lall said he plans to put his winnings towards his retirement.

“I haven’t shared the news of my win with anyone yet. Only OLG and I know that I won this prize,” he smiled. “My kids are in for a surprise.”

LOTTO 6/49 offers players a chance to win two multi-million dollar jackpots every Wednesday and Saturday, for the same $3 per play. The Classic Draw offers a fixed $5 million jackpot for every draw, while the Gold Ball Draw guarantees a $1 million prize, or the growing jackpot that starts at $10 million and can exceed $60 million.

The winning ticket was purchased at C & H Variety on Adelaide Avenue East in Oshawa.
