Oshawa Fire cautions residents to avoid major intersection as they investigate garage blaze

Oshawa Fire is advising residents to avoid the Thornton Road and Rossland Road intersection as they investigate a garage fire.
Fire services announced their advisory via twitter around noon today to fight a garage fire in a townhouse area. They advised motorists at the time to avoid the area as they tackled the blaze.

Around ten minutes later, Oshawa Fire announced they had knocked down the blaze in the smoke-filled garage. They were able to contain the fire in the garage area.

Crews remain on scene investigating the cause of the fire and Oshawa Fire Services’ advisory to stay clear stands.
