Oshawa General’s captain Ty Tullio has been named the OHL Player of the Week.

With seven points, including his first career hat trick (a natural hat trick at that) in a pair of Oshawa victories this weekend over divisional rivals, Tullio helped send his club into the COVID-forced holiday break on a four-game win streak.

The pair of wins also vaulted the club into third place in the East Division.

Tullio, a fifth-round draft pick of the Edmonton Oilers in 2020, picked up the natural hattie Friday night in a 4-2 win over Ottawa and added another goal – along with three assists – in an 8-4 drubbing of Peterborough the following night.

Both games were on the road.

The 19 year-old sits ninth in league scoring with 12 goals and 26 assists in 26 games this season and leads all OHL skaters with 21 power-play points.
