Mike ‘Lucky’ Luck, the play-by-play man for the Oshawa Generals and one-half of the Craig Venn and Lucky Show at 94.9 FM, is headed back to the big time next month.

Luck will join the Hockey Night in Canada broadcast team in Ottawa for the Senators game against the Philadelphia Flyers and will be in Winnipeg on November 19 and 21 calling Jets games against the Pittsburgh Penguins and Carolina Hurricanes.

“Honoured to be joining the NHL Sportsnet broadcast team to call play-by-play on Hockey Night in Canada on a more regular basis this season,” Luck tweeted, prompting dozens of congratulatory responses from fans.

Luck, who is also a noted voice actor, debuted on Hockey Night in Canada February 12 when he called the Ottawa -Boston game and returned to the booth the following weekend for a Senators-Washington Capitals game.

Luck, who will be in the booth at the Tribute Communities Centre Sunday for the Generals match against the Ottawa 67s, celebrated his 500th OHL broadcast in 2019.

In other Oshawa Generals news, then club have acquired forward Ryder McIntyre from the Sarnia Sting in exchange for forward Cooper Way and an 8th-round selection in 2025.

McIntyre, a Stouffville, native, was drafted by the Sarnia Sting with the 51st overall pick in the 3rd round of the 2020 OHL Priority Selection. In 58 games with the Sting last season, McIntyre scored four goals and added five assists. The 6’3 203 lb winger also spent time with the Ajax-Pickering Raiders before joining the OHL.
