The Oshawa Generals are running out of time to go on a run heading into the upcoming playoffs after a split of a pair of weekend games.
Sunday night the Generals took on the league-leading Hamilton Bulldogs and result was the same as the Outdoor Showcase game at Tim Hortons Field from a couple of weeks prior: a 3-0 win for the Bulldogs.
Hamilton scored in each period, seven different players figured in the scoring and Marco Constantini recorded his league-leading fifth shutout in the victory.
The Generals had better success Friday night with captain Ty Tullio scoring in overtime against the Barrie Colts, a club Oshawa is chasing in the standings, in a 3-2 win
Cameron Butler opened the scoring Friday and the two clubs traded goals until Tullio’s OT winner, when he used Brett Harrison as a decoy on a two-on-one before firing home the winner, his team-leading 35th of the season.
Oskar Olausson had the other Oshawa goal.
The Generals still sit in sixth in the Eastern Conference, seven back of Barrie and three up on Ottawa. The team has eight games remaining in the regular season.
