The Oshawa Generals split a pair of home games this weekend, squeezing by Ottawa 4-3 on Friday night before dropping a 6-4 decision to Hamilton Sunday.

Brett Harrison was the hero Friday with two goals, including the overtime winner.

Oshawa led 2-0 early but Ottawa stormed back to take the lead before the first period was over. Ryan Gagnier tied it in the third, setting the stage for Harrison’s winner in extra time. Andrew Whitton, with his first OHL goal, had the other Oshawa marker.

Hamilton extended their lead atop the East Division with Sunday’s wild win, which featured seven third period goals, a five-point night from the Bulldog’s Logan Morrison and Ryan Stepien’s first hattrick for the Generals.

Luke Torrance had the other Oshawa goal while Zachary Paputsakis made his first start in between the pipes since October 22.
