Hamilton youth and teens can now get a COVID vaccine booster

COVID-19 cases teased us a bit on Friday and Saturday, with new cases dropping to 77 and 60 after peaking at 120 last Thursday.

Sunday’s numbers, however, were back up to 114.

The good news is there are no deaths to report over the past week and outbreaks among our most vulnerable in long-term care and retirement homes are sitting at four, with just four residents testing positive.

Oshawa (32) and Pickering (23) led Sunday’s spike in numbers. Ajax (14) and Whitby (13) reported the highest Saturday and Oshawa (23) and Clarington (19) had the highest new case numbers Saturday.

Scugog and Brock Township each reported just four new cases over the three days. The active case count is now at 476, which is up from Thursday’s total at 445.
