Oshawa man, 18, caught doing nearly triple the speed limit

A teenaged driver was nabbed doing nearly triple the speed limit in east Oshawa late Sunday night and will be without a driver’s licence for 30 days as a result.

The 18 year-old was clocked at 140 km/hr in a posted 50 km/hr zone on King St. E at Kingsway College Drive near Townline Road just before midnight on May 6.

The driver was stopped and subsequently charged with stunt driving, resulting in a 30-day license suspension and the loss of his car for 14 days.
