A driver from Oshawa was arrested in Caledon after police stopped his car and found it “overflowing” with beer cans.

Officers stopped the car around four in the afternoon after receiving calls about an “erratic”
driver.

When they stopped the vehicle, Police say the driver showed clear signs of alcohol impairment. A breathalyzer test found a blood-alcohol content of three times over the legal limit.

Police say the car was “overflowing” with beer cans some empty, some still partially full. The driver’s license was already suspended over two other drunk driving charges.

The driver, 58, was arrested and charged with a battery of offences including impaired driving, impaired driving on a novice license, and driving with available liquor.

The vehicle was impounded for a week and 90 days were added to his driver’s suspension.
