Oshawa man arrested in stolen truck after driving into a police cruiser

An Oshawa man was arrested in yesterday’s early morning hours after he drove a stolen pick-up truck into a police cruiser.
Durham Police officers were on the lookout for the stolen pick-up around 2:30 am on December 28 and found the vehicle in a commercial parking lot on Simcoe Street South.
When the investigators approached the truck, the driver tried to flee the scene and drove into a parked police car. The driver, 27, was arrested without further incident. Nobody was injured in the collision.
When they inspected the truck police found brass knuckles, cocaine and stolen license plates.
The driver now faces 14 charges including;
- Driving while prohibited,
- Dangerous driving,
- Failure to comply with an undertaking,
- Possession of a prohibited weapon,
- Possession of cocaine,
- Possession of stolen property over $5,000
- Possession of stolen property under $5,000, and
- Four counts of breach of probation
