Last weekend’s big dump and the subsequent snow removal job became too much for one Oshawa man who police say assaulted a plow operator for leaving too big of a windrow at the end of his driveway.

Scott Patton, 32, has been charged with assault and was released on an Undertaking.

Durham Police East Division officers were called to a north Oshawa neighbourhood near Wilson Road and Greenhill Avenue Saturday night after a homeowner got into an altercation with the snow plow operator.

Police say the man got “upset” over the windrow blocking the end of his driveway and assaulted the driver, allegedly trying to pull him out of the truck.

There were actually two incidents that day requiring police assistance where citizens and plow operators clashed, prompting the City to release a statement asking the public to treat workers with “respect” and that any “harassment or abuse … will not be tolerated.”

Anyone with new information about this investigation is asked to contact East Division at 1-888-579-1520 ext. 1687.
