An Oshawa man plans on fixing up his house after pulling a $100,000 lottery win.

Patrick Patton, 77, bought a ticket with Encore from the Absolute Discount Store on Wentworth St. in Oshawa. He matched six of the seven numbers resulting in his $100,000 haul.

He’s been playing for 50 years and this is his first major win. “I always imagined I would be excited and hyper, but I was surprisingly calm,” Patton told the OLG, “I told my wife and mother-in-law and they’re very happy for me. When I told my neighbour, who I’ve known for years, she thought I was messing with her.”

Patton plans to pay off his car, renovate his home and save the rest of his win. “It feels good to win and I will continue to play,” he said.
