Oshawa man, two teens charged after drugs, weapon seized in traffic stop

An Oshawa man and two teenagers have been charged after police seized a weapon and several drugs during a traffic stop in the city.

Police pulled over a car on Oshawa’s Centre Street North on March 1. In searching the vehicle, officers say they found an expandable baton, cocaine, cannabis, psilocybin and other illegal drugs.

As a result the trio was arrested and charged with several drug and weapons charges.

Maximus Gunn, 20 of Oshawa, a 17-year-old and a 16-year-old have all been charged with; possession for use in production or distribution of illicit cannabis, possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace, possession of cannabis for the purpose of selling, and possession of other controlled substance for purpose of trafficking.

The identities of the two teenages are protected by the Youth Criminal Justice Act. All three have been released from custody with conditions.
