A shopping excursion is in an Oshawa man’s future after a Daily KENO Pick 8 resulted in a cool $50,000 win in the December 12 MIDDAY draw.
Jamie Hardy, who works in sales, has been a long-time lottery player with OLG. The 66-year-old normally plays Daily KENO and LOTTO MAX, choosing numbers that correlate with special years and birthdays. This is his first big win.
“I checked the DAILY KENO winning numbers on the OLG app and was pretty sure I’d matched enough to have a winning ticket,” he said while visiting the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his winnings. “Then, I scanned my ticket and was frozen in shock! I checked it at least four times to make sure I was seeing the prize amount right.”
“Winning came with so many emotions,” Hardy added. “I was excited, nervous, numb, and of course, very happy. I shared the news with my friends and family, and while they were stunned, they congratulated me on my win.”
With his windfall, Hardy plans to pay some bills and do some shopping.

The winning ticket was purchased at Bond Convenience on Bond Street West in Oshawa.
