An Oshawa man is awaiting a sizeable windfall, but the win must be reviewed first.

This week, OLG announced that David Glover is “one step closer” to claiming a $250,000 lottery prize with Instant Neon Casino but must wait a little longer, as Glover’s partner works for an authorized OLG retailer.

Because of the connection, the win is considered an “insider win.” OLG says claims of $10,000 or more made by people considered insiders are subject to enhanced review and validation, as well as a 30-day publication period before payment to ensure there are no additional claims on the winning ticket.

If there are no additional claims, Glover will receive his prize on Aug. 3.

“It is OLG’s goal to ensure that the right prize is paid to the right person(s) every time,” the organization said in a news release.

The ticket was purchased at Circle K on Highway 2 in Courtice.
