Oshawa murder victim identified

Investigators with Durham Police’s Homicide Unit have identified the man shot to death in Oshawa early Thursday morning.

Andrew Junior Rochester, 26, of Oshawa was killed after being shot in a residence on Albert Street shortly after 2 a.m. Police say there “multiple individual” inside the home at the time of the shooting but the crowd of people scattered before police arrived.

The Homicide Unit has taken over the investigation and is pleading for witnesses to come forward and speak to police about what happened.

Rochester’s death was the tenth murder in Durham Region this year.
