Six ribbers with a combined experience of some 150 years will vie for top honours at this weekend’s Oshawa Rotary Club Oshawa Ribfest.

The prime foodie event, which attracted some 60,000 visitors the last time it was held in 2019, kicks off Friday at noon at Lakeview Park and ends Sunday at seven p.m.

There will be entertainment all weekend, featuring a diverse lineup of bands such as Two For the Show, Professors of Funk, Aeroforce and Caribbean 2U and dozens of vendors from Alabama Lemonade and Ontario Corn Roasters to Stock Axe Throwing.

Durham’s original and biggest Ribfest is now in its 21st year.

Ribbers this year include:

  • Billy Bones BBQ (Celebrating 30-plus years travelling from festival to festival)
  • Camp 31 (Alabama’s finest and the 2019 People’s Choice winner)
  • Fat Boys BBQ (Second place ribbon for both Best Ribs and Best Sauce in 2019)
  • Hawgs Gone Wild (Founded in 1985 in Daytona Beach Florida)
  • Silver Bullet BBQ (Originating from the heart of Texas)
  • Sticky Fingers BBQ (Mainstay at Oshawa Ribfest for many years)

Oshawa Ribfest continues to provide free admission welcome donations that contribute to the Oshawa Rotary Club’s many charitable causes. Free parking is available and a shuttle service is also available.

Brock Street Brewing will be sponsoring the beer garden and the event promises plenty of activities for children and families as well.
