Oshawa stabbing leaves man seriously hurt

A man is was seriously wounded in a stabbing in southern Oshawa over the weekend.
On Oct. 18, Durham Police responded to a call to Oxford Street and Wentworth Street West around 1 a.m. The area is a busy one, home to several houses, apartment buildings and business plazas.
When first responders arrived, they found a man suffering a stab wound. He was seriously injured and paramedics rushed him to hospital. His wounds were found not to be life-threatening. However, there was no suspect on scene by the time police arrived.
Nearly 12 hours later, police were called back to the same area following reports of an armed man. Witnesses report the man was armed with a knife and yelling. Officers soon found a man nearby and arrested him.
They’ve charged Jaleel Allen, 30 of Oshawa with several offences in connection to both incidents. He remains in custody until a bail hearing. His charges include:
- two counts of uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm
- assault with a weapon and
- assault causing bodily harm
